<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact constant-potential electrolytic gas sensor for reliably detecting an expected gas and can be manufactured extremely easily. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor comprises a cylindrical casing body; a lower surface side casing member that is provided at one-end side opening of the casing body and allows a gas permeable port to be formed at one end; and an upper surface side casing member fitted to the other-end side opening of the casing body. The casing for forming an electrolyte chamber sealed by a gas permeable hydrophobic diaphragm is provided at the gas permeable port. The other-end side section and one-end side section of an electrode structure, where at least two gas detection electrodes of a working electrode and a counter electrode are laminated via an electrolyte retaining member in the casing, are fitted to one-end side opening of the casing body and fitted to a recess formed on the other end face of the lower-surface side casing member, respectively, so that the working electrode opposes and are in contact with the gas permeable hydrophobic diaphragm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
