PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that can effectively correct relative color slurring between respective colors even in continuous printing and that can suppress variation in beam spot intervals on a surface to be scanned, in a tandem type image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is equipped with M (M≥1; integer) pieces of light sources 22 which are composed of M pairs of semiconductor lasers and coupling lenses for coupling laser beams emitted from the semiconductor laser, and equipped with an optical means which deflects the laser beams emitted from the light sources 22 to guide them to the surface to be scanned. In this optical scanner, there is provided, between the light source 22 and a deflecting means 14, a transmitting type prism 40 which has a mutually nonparallel incident plane and exiting plane and which deflects the optical path of the laser beam emitted from at least one light source by a minute angle. The transmitting type prism 40 can be rotated round the rotary shaft that are nearly parallel to the optical path of the laser beam. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
