PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nonaqueous secondary battery, of which a groove formed on a sealing plate is not unexpectedly ruptured, but surely ruptured when an inside pressure of the battery abnormally increases. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a bottomed cylinder-shaped battery case 5 housing an electrode body, and a sealing plate 7 sealing an opening of the battery case. A circular groove 12 is formed on the sealing plate 7, and divided into two by junction parts 13, 13 formed at two opposing parts.
