PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successively inform a user of the degree of focusing and to effectively express focusing information especially at the time of manual focus. SOLUTION: A controller 105 calculates the focusing degree of an image formed on a CCD 103 by receiving light through a photographic lens 101 and a focus lens 102A based on the difference of luminance between adjacent pixels in the CCD 103. Under the control of the controller 103, a buzzer 57 generates buzzer sound having sound characteristic in accordance with the calculated focusing degree so as to inform the user of the focusing degree. The buzzer 57 transmits the buzzer sound so that frequency may be higher, sound volume may be larger and a transmission interval (pitch) may be shorter as the focusing degree gets higher. Then, an LED 56b emits light so that the luminance may be higher and a light emitting interval may be shorter as the focusing degree gets higher. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
