PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing tea extract liquid by which tea extract liquid excellent particularly in flavor and nutrition can be efficiently obtained by improving a technology of extracting tea leaves with cool water. SOLUTION: The method for producing tea extract liquid comprises freezing mixture of tea leaves and water, shaving or pulverizing the frozen mixture in a frozen state, and pressurizing the shaved or pulverized frozen mixture to obtain extract liquid. In the method, the tea leaves are pulverized in a frozen state so that the tea leaves and water content can be pulverized while they are fixedly frozen, foam inclusion is not caused during the pulverizing process so that oxidative deterioration of the tea extract liquid caused from incorporation of the oxygen due to foam inclusion can be prevented, and deterioration of the extract liquid can be prevented because of treating the tea leaves under such an environment as to have slight heat deterioration, and the excellently aromatic tea extract liquid can be obtained because the aroma in the tea leaves is entrapped in the ice so as not to be scattered in the outside air because of cutting or pulverizing the tea leaves in an entrapped state in the ice.
