PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize image processing for relieving a load on a job of setting a gradation conversion curve in converting scene reference image data into appreciation image reference data. SOLUTION: An appreciation image list preparation section 120 prepares appreciation image list data wherein appreciation images with different setting values of the stiffness and the lightness are arranged. When a user selects a desired image from an appreciation image list menu, the adjustment value of the stiffness and the adjustment value of the lightness of the appreciation image reference data are decided on the basis of a selected image. An appreciation image reference data generating section 107 adjusts the stiffness and lightness of the appreciation image reference data according to the adjustment value of the stiffness and the adjustment value of the lightness that have been decided.
