PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve a technique related to a surfactant-free emulsion composed of≥50% of a polyhydric alcohol which is glycerol or a polyglycerol in (2:1) to (1:2) weight ratio of a higher alcohol to a fatty acid in an emulsified composition comprising 5-20 wt.% of the polyhydric alcohol, (2) 1-5 wt.% of the higher alcohol, (3) 1-5 wt.% of the fatty acid and (4) 0.01-5 wt.% of a water-soluble polymer and to provide a technique for reducing the sum total of the contents of the higher alcohol and the fatty acid without deteriorating stability. SOLUTION: The emulsified composition comprises (1) 0.12-0.5 mass% of alginic acid and/or a salt thereof, (2) 5-15 mass% of one or two or more kinds selected from the glycerol, diglycerol, sorbitol and maltitol and (3) 1.5-3 mass% of the straight-chain and saturated higher alcohol without substantially containing a polyoxyethylene addition type surfactant.
