PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyacene derivative which has functional groups at both the terminals of the polyacene and has a wide application range. SOLUTION: The polyacene derivative represented by formula (I) [R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R8, R9and R10are each H, a hydrocarbon group, or the like; R6, R7, A1, and A2are each a halogen atom, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or the like; (n) is an integer of≥1]. The method for producing the polyacene derivative from the corresponding polyhydro compound. A conductive material, a resin composition, and a thin film each containing the polyacene derivative.
