PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having excellent infrared screening performances in a wide range wavelength region (700-2,500 nm) while maintaining a high visible light transmittance. SOLUTION: Boride fine particles (A) formulated in the cosmetic are preferably of a group IIa and a group IIIa boride, specifically LaB<SB>6</SB>, CeB<SB>6</SB>, PrB<SB>6</SB>, NdB<SB>6</SB>, SmB<SB>6</SB>, GdB<SB>6</SB>, TbB<SB>6</SB>, DyB<SB>6</SB>, SrB<SB>6</SB>, CaB<SB>6</SB>, or the like, and a mixture thereof. Oxide fine particles (B) are preferably oxide fine particles such as of tin oxide, an Sb-, an F- or a P-doped tin oxide, indium oxide, an Sn- or an F-doped indium oxide, antimony oxide or a low-order titanium oxide and a mixture thereof.
