PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF ALUMINA FROM ALUMINIUM SLUG

This invention enables procedure of aluminum slug processing in order to obtain alumina. The procedure is characterized by mechanical processing of aluminum slug, after electrolytic obtaining of aluminum, by crumbling and grinding to obtain concentrate of aluminum (particle size 3-150mm) and gray dust, which contains 40-55% of metal aluminum (particle size under 3mm). The processed slug is then mixed with crumbled boxite and led to the autoclave batteries where it is further processed with sodium hydroxide (leaching). The solution is then filtered to obtain aluminate solution (filtrate I), which is used to obtain alumina, and rinsed with water in order to obtain alkaline solution (filtrate II), which is used for further leaching.
