PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful new nitrogen-containing compound having an endothelial differentiation gene (Edg) antagonism, to provide a production method thereof, and to provide a utilization method thereof. SOLUTION: A (1S, 2R)-2-nitrogen-containing group-substituted-1-aryl-1,3-propanediol derivative compound represented by the general formula (Ar is an un-substituted aryl group or a group capable of having at least one substituent; R is H, an alkyl, an alkylcarbonyl, or an alkoxy), a production method thereof, and medicinal uses thereof. The compound competes with Edg receptors and has usefulness in medicinal uses for circulatory system diseases (such as arteriosclerosis, heat diseases, peripheral circulatory disorders), rheumatism, cancers, diabetic retinopathy, respiratory system diseases, and twitch after subarachnoidal hemorrhage.
