PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of servo pattern signal writing at an STW (Servo Track Writer), and to write a servo pattern without increasing the STW time. SOLUTION: In the servo pattern writing system for writing a servo pattern used for controlling the positioning of a magnetic head on a magnetic disk, the servo pattern is written by changing the disk revolution speed in the proper position of the disk radial position of the magnetic head. The proper position is located at one or a plurality of positions, and the disk revolution speed is changed on the basis of the magnitude of a synchronous vibration synchronized with the disk revolution. The write current for servo pattern writing is set in accordance with the change of the disk revolution speed. Thus, by varying the revolution speed in the radial position of the magnetic head at the STW, a vibration value during the servo writing is reduced to a value satisfying the positioning specification value, and a servo track wiring process is made inexpensive.
