PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock checking support device having a key holding mechanism for holding a key of a variety of shapes and sizes and for operating a key in/out sensor. SOLUTION: The lock checking support device comprises a key case 1 for holding the key K by pressing a key body against a wall surface of a key housing 1b by a cam-like pressing member 2. The cam-like pressing member 2 is rotatably arranged near a mouth of the key housing 1b in a state that the pressing member 2 is urged by a pressing spring 4 in a direction of the wall surface of the key housing 1b. When the key K is housed in the housing 1b, the detection switch type key in/out sensor 5 generates an off signal. When the key K is taken out of the housing 1b, a switch operation end 5a of the cam-like pressing member 2 is engaged with a movable point of contact 5b of the detection switch type key in/out sensor 5 to bring the movable point of contact 5b into contact with the fixed point of contact 5a to generate an on signal.
