PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the occurrence of a surge voltage for noise reduction and stable operation, and for the reduction of a parts cost and efficient operation. SOLUTION: A voltage equalizer 1 comprises a plurality of modules M and Ma where first coils 2a-2n, first switches 3a-3n, and storage elements Ba-Bn are connected in series, respectively, to constitute a plurality of first loop circuits Ra-Rn, with the storage elements Ba- and Ba- of the modules M and Ma connected to each other in series while second coils 2x and 2x connected to each other in parallel. A surge absorbing circuit 5 which absorbs a circuit current Ix that flows from the second coils 2x- when the first switches 3a-3n are off is connected to a part of or all second coils 2x- of the modules M and Ma.
