PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure capable of efficiently enhancing strength against inputting load from a side. SOLUTION: A side vertical member 1 and a lower vehicle width direction member 2 are formed so as to be provided with a curvature outwardly expanded and a connection part K of the side vertical member 1 and the lower vehicle width direction member 2 is arranged in a plane surrounded by a first line segmentα1 and a second line segmentα2. The curvature of the lower vehicle width direction member 2 is made smaller than the curvature of the side vertical member 1. Thereby, the inputting load from the side is efficiently dispersed as vertical axial tension and bending moment through the side vertical member 1 with the curvature at a side collision and initial reaction force is increased. An energy absorption ratio is enhanced by enhancement of a transmission efficiency of the axial tension and the bending moment. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
