Jewelry, in particular key ring pendant, manufacturing method in which a thin model is produced between two tools, enclosed in a fireclay mold and melted out to form a cavity for molding the jewelry

A first molding tool has the negative shape of a childs foot sole and a second tool the positive shape of the sole. The second tool is positioned in the first and forms snug fit within it. Low melting point molten material is cast into the thin wall cavity formed between first and second tools to form a model. On removal of the model its edges and voids are polished and corrected. Sprues are formed on the model and the latter enclosed in a fireclay mold. The model is melted out and a metal cast into the vacant space, then cooled and removed. Surfaces of the first and/or second tools have a fine structure corresponding to the skin surface of the childs foot sole. The first tool is used to manufacture the second. Edges of the jewelry are perforated to allow an eye or ring to be fitted for attaching to a key pendant. Jewelry wall thickness is 2-5mm and overall length is 6-15cm. Independent claims are included for: (1) a piece of jewelry produced by the claimed process; (2) polyether molding tools with a negative or positive profile of a childs foot sole; and (3) a system of polyether tools and a databank relating each tool to a particular person.
