<p>A technique which can preferably be used for effective wavelength allocation in an optical network. Transmission capability of each wavelength group which can be used in the optical network is calculated. According to the calculation result, for an advised optical transmission path in the optical network for a traffic request from outside, a wavelength having a transmission capability corresponding to the entire optical transmission distance is allocated. Thus, it is possible to significantly reduce the number of optical relay devices having the electric signal reproduction function and arranged in the optical network, thereby reducing the number of devices in the optical network, power consumption, installation area, and the like.</p> |
