<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a processing cartridge requiring the guarantee of positional accuracy is mounted from a main body side to guarantee its position, a toner replacement that is highly frequently needed is accomplished by replacement of a toner cartridge from the front face of the main body, and satisfactory operability can be maintained as well as paper feed cassettes. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus using the processing cartridge that has at least an image carrier and the toner cartridge that holds developer in it, the direction in which the processing cartridge is mounted in the main body of the image forming apparatus is perpendicular to the image carrier whereas the direction in which the toner cartridge is attached/detached to/from the main body of the image forming apparatus is parallel to the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
