<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal paper and a thermal printer the printer head of which can be simply and positively cleaned. <P>SOLUTION: When an empty sensor 4 detects that the thermal label paper 1 approaches its end and a control unit 5 receives the detected signal, the thermal printer is turned into a cleaning mode to execute cleaning with a cleaning section 11 by feeding a fixed amount of the thermal label papers 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
