METHOD FOR SUPPORTING FORMATION OF PRICE INFORMATION LIST BY USE OF PORTABLE ELECTRONIC MEDIUM WITH COMPUTING POWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system enabling a user to easily compare a price between stores including a store which does not disclose price information on the Internet.

SOLUTION: This method for providing price information comprises reading commodity information for price information acquisition which stores model number identification information for identifying a commodity for every unit quantity in association with the quantity of the commodity from the portable electronic medium; transmitting the model identification information included in the read information to a price information providing system; receiving the unit price of the commodity corresponding to the transmitted model identification information from the price information providing system; multiplying the quantity of the commodity matched to the received commodity unit price by the commodity unit price to determine the price for every model identification information; totaling the determined price for every model identification information to determine the total amount of sum; and storing the price information which mutually associates the model identification information, the price for every model identification information, and the total mount of sum in the portable electronic medium.
