PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monoclonal antibody indispensable for elucidating the function of an SR-BI molecule. SOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody belongs to mouse IgG1/κsubclass, and recognizes rat class B scavenger receptor type I(SR-BI). The monoclonal antibody is prepared by using a synthetic peptide having a sequence corresponding to amino acid number 110-132 of the rat SR-BI, a synthetic peptide having a sequence corresponding to amino acid number 144-163 of the rat SR-BI or a protein obtained by bonding a part of amino acid number 192-439 of the rat SR-BI with the Fc region of human immunoglobulin as an immunogen. The prepared monoclonal antibody can be utilized for the detecting methods of antigen proteins, such as a western blotting method, an immunohistochemical method, a fluorescent antibody technique, a flow cytometry method, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
