PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermosensitive resin for metal ion adsorption. SOLUTION: The thermosensitive resin comprises a polymer obtained by polymerizing an N-alkyl(meth)acrylamide represented by general formula (1) (R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group with the proviso that R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are not a hydrogen atom at the same time) with a (meth)acryl group-containing phosphinic acid-based monomer represented by general formula (2) (R<SP>4</SP>is a methyl group or a hydrogen atom; A is a 1-10C straight-chain or branched-chain alkylene group; R<SP>5</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group, a 1-10C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group, a substituted phenyl group or a benzyl group) in the presence of a crosslinking agent.
