PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust bearing mechanism having a sufficient thrust force bearing force with a simple configuration and having preferable properties in vibration and noise without a reciprocating member. SOLUTION: The scroll compressor comprises a housing and a movable scroll moving around the housing, and further comprises the movable member supporting mechanism having plates respectively attached to the housing and the movable scroll to face each other and a plurality of rods interposed between the facing plates in the circumferential direction. In the movable member supporting mechanism, both end faces of the rod are formed like a convex spherical surface. One end face of the rod is in contact with the plate at the housing side, whereas the other end face of the rod is in contact with the plate at the movable scroll side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
