PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope low in curving resistance and hard to be damaged and broken even if it is used repeatedly. SOLUTION: This endoscope has an insertion part 2 having flexibility and an operation part installed on the proximal side of the insertion part 2. The insertion part 2 is constituted by arranging a long member such as a tube and a wire in a tube lumen composed of a spiral tube 23, a reticulated tube 24 and an outer skin 25. A lubricant 5 comprising a nitrogen-containing carbon compound comprising a composition mainly constituted of C and containing N is arranged in the tube lumen. The nitrogen-containing carbon compound is obtained by applying heat treatment to a powdery polyimide at 500-2,000°C in an inert atmosphere.
