METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF METAL NANO-ROD AND USE THEREOF

A method for preparing a metal nano-rod which comprises a step of adding a reducing agent to a solution of a salt of the metal, a step of irradiating the metal salt solution containing the reducing agent with a light, and a step of leaving the metal salt solution containing the reducing agent having been irradiated with a light at rest in a dark place, to thereby grow a metal nano-rod. A metal nano-rod can also be grown by forming a mixed solution by mixing a part of the above metal salt solution having been irradiated with a light and a metal salt solution containing a reducing agent being not irradiated or mixing the above metal salt solution containing a reducing agent having been irradiated with a light, a metal salt solution being not irradiated and a reducing agent solution, and leaving the mixed solution at rest in a dark place.
