EYEBALL EXAMINATION APPARATUS AND EYEBALL EXAMINATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight eyeball examination apparatus and an eyeball examination method for automatically measuring and quantifying the contraction speed and diameter of the pupil to light reflection from the area and radius of curvature of the pupil.

SOLUTION: This eyeball examination apparatus 10 is composed of an image processor 14. The image processor 14 is mainly provided with a camera head 12 for photographing the eyeball; a display 40 for displaying the photographed eye globe; a control part 42 for converting moving image data into digital moving image data; an image processing part 44 for performing conversion into a data format that can be displayed on the display 40; an image computing part 46 for detecting the edge around the pupil from each frame of the digital moving image data to convert it into the pupil area and computing the temporal change of the pupil area from the pupil area and unit time for every frame; and an image determining part 48 for comparing to determine the temporal change of the pupil area measured beforehand and stored, with the temporal change of the measured pupil area.
