PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crank angle phase variable device capable of surely holding a crank pin in the predetermined angle phase. SOLUTION: A crank arm 23 of a crank shaft 14 is supported on a crank spindle 16 freely to relatively rotate, and the crank pin 31 is integrally provided with the crank arm 23 at a position displaced from the center of rotation of the crank spindle 16. This crank angle phase variable device engages a lock pin 57 inside the crank arm 23 with a lock hole 55 of the crank spindle 16 to connect (lock) the crank arm 23 to (with) the crank spindle 16, preventing relative rotation thereof. Crank angle phase of the crank pin 31 can be changed by evacuating the lock pin 57 out of the lock hole 55 and relatively rotating the crank arms 22 and 23 in relation to the crank spindle 16 with the cylinder-inside pressure applied to the crank pin 31 through a piston.
