PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer a service operated on a computer expected to break down to another computer before occurrence of a failure in the computer without any intervention of a system administrator and to normally stop the computer expected to break down for realizing stable operation. SOLUTION: A failure prediction detecting function FPS1 of a basic service BS1 stops a service on a computer C1 when prediction of failure occurrence in the computer C1 is notified by a failure prediction analysis process PFA1. In this way, user services SVC1 and SVC2 in strong dependency on the basic service BS1 are switched over to other computers C2 and C3. A failed computer stopping function POF1 stops the computer C1 when switching over of all the user services SVC1 and SVC2 is confirmed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
