PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient heat exchanger, the capacity of which can be estimated digitally. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger is formed by an assembly having a spacer 30 held between a first plate-like element 10 and a second plate-like element 20, the first element 10 and the second element 20 are respectively provided with two or more pockets of fixed size symmetrically disposed at fixed spaces. The space 30 is provided with circulating holes 31a, 34, 33 for sequentially communicating with the pockets X<SB>1</SB>, X<SB>2</SB>, X<SB>3</SB>and pocket Y<SB>19</SB>, Y<SB>18</SB>, Y<SB>17</SB>alternately, wherein while the fluids A and B circulate through the pockets, heat exchange is performed between the corresponding pockets X<SB>1</SB>and Y<SB>19</SB>, X<SB>2</SB>and Y<SB>18</SB>, and X<SB>3</SB>and Y<SB>17</SB>.
