PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nail easy to be driven with small resistance when driving into a driven material and having a large proof stress after driving hard to be pulled out of the driven material. SOLUTION: A surface of a nail barrel part 2 is provided with a line of a plurality of recessed parts in the longitudinal direction of the nail barrel part 2 so that a nail head 3 side is formed into a gentle slope and that a tip 4 side is formed into a steep wall surface. When the recessed parts are first recessed parts 5, a line of a plurality of second recessed parts 6 are provided adjacent to the first recessed parts 5 so that a groove formed in a bottom thereof is tilted to the line of the first recessed parts 5. When pulling the nail out, it is desirable to discharge wood fibers 15 of the driven material inside the second recessed parts 6 to the line of the first recessed parts 5.
