PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head support which facilitates an adjustment work by completing position adjustment of a thermal head 6 before the thermal head support is incorporated in a printer, and to provide a jig and a method for position adjustment of the thermal head. SOLUTION: With attention paid to the fact that the adjustment of a front-and-rear position and an opposite position is sequentially carried out via interposed intermediate plates 23 and 24, the thermal head support is provided with a head frame 22 mounted at a predetermined position of the printer, the first intermediate plate 23 set at the head frame 22 to be adjustable in the front-and-rear direction, the second intermediate plate 24 set between the first intermediate plate 23 and the thermal head 6 to make adjustable an inclination angle with respect to a platen roller of the thermal head 6, a front-and-rear position adjustment mechanism set between the head frame 22 and the first intermediate plate 23, and an opposite position adjustment mechanism set between the first intermediate plate 23 and the second intermediate plate 24.
