PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an electrode is rapidly consumed and a chuck is difficult to adapt to a change in diameter of a work because the slide on a wedge surface to be engaged with a tapered pressurizing surface is converted into the holding force in a conventional chuck type electrode device when another metal component is projection-welded to a cylindrical work. SOLUTION: An electrode apparatus has a plurality of chuck jaws 3 which are opposite to each other in the centripetal or centrifugal direction and simultaneously moved with respect to the axis of a cylindrical work, and an electrode base 11 connected to a secondary terminal of a welding transformer is fitted to each chuck jaw in an insulating manner. Each electrode holder 13 is fitted to the electrode base, and an electrode chip 14 is attachably/detachably fitted to each electrode holder. The chuck jaw is driven in the centripetal or centrifugal direction by one actuator 4, and a plurality of electrode chips are simultaneously pressed against a wall surface of the outside diameter or the inside diameter of the cylindrical work at a right angle.
