The invention relates to a method for the in vitro diagnosis of cancers in humans or animals. The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises a step consisting in determining the methylation rates of desoxycytidines of CpG doublets in sequences from BAGE loci. The invention also relates to the nucleotide primers which are used to perform the aforementioned method and to amplified nucleotide fragments in relation to said method.
