<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a promotor sequence of p55 tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNF-R), its production and use. <P>SOLUTION: A promoter sequence of the human p55 tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNF-R) gene, sequence motifs and motif regions contained within the promoter sequence, their production and their use are provided. The promoter sequence makes the diagnosis of native and acquired disease-causing mutation possible and sequence motifs and motif regions contained in the promoter sequence make treatment of morbid states possible by modification of TNF function, which morbid states are particularly caused by the hazardous action of an excessive amount of TNF. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
