<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a variable cylinder internal combustion engine for properly performing idling speed control, deceleration fuel cut control and accessory driving control independently of whether a cylinder halting mechanism is malfunctioned or not. <P>SOLUTION: The control device 1 for the variable cylinder internal combustion engine which is operated switchable between all cylinder operation and partial cylinder operation comprises an ECU 2. The ECU 2 determines the malfunction of the cylinder halting mechanism 4 (Step 20), sets a target idling speed NOBJ to be used in idling speed control, as a normal value NOBJNORMAL (Step 3) when the cylinder halting mechanism 4 is normal (Step 1: NO), and sets it as a malfunction value NOBJEM higher than the normal value (Step 8) when the cylinder halting mechanism 4 is malfunctioned (Step 1: YES). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
