PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material having a dense microstructure in spite of its large/complicated shape, and provided with excellent physical properties such as high fracture toughness and easiness in working. SOLUTION: The composite material 5 contains a composite structure in which a dispersion material is dispersed into a matrix comprising an aluminide intermetallic compound as a constituent. A first composite structure 12 (first structure 13) in which a first dispersion material 37 is dispersed into a first matrix 36 comprising a first aluminide intermetallic compound, and a structure (second structure 14) of the material same as or different from that of the first composite structure 12 composed of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a second composite structure 15 in which a second dispersion material is dispersed into a second matrix comprising a second aluminide intermetallic compound, a metallic structure 16 and a ceramic structure 17 are coexistent in a state of being mutually partitioned/held in each existing region.
