PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a die by which the release of a grown electroforming from a matrix can suitably be performed, and to provide a die produced thereby. SOLUTION: A fixture 2 is provided with a projecting part 2d and a recessed part 23 on both the sides with a transfer face 4c held, and, on a die stock 4, a recessed part 4d and a projecting part 4e corresponding thereto are formed, so that, in the meanwhile for which the projecting part 2d and the recessed part 4d, and the recessed part 2e and the projecting part 4e are engaged, the deviation between the axis of the matrix 1 and the fixture 2 and the axis of the die stock 4 is prevented, and a fine pattern, e.g., with a height of about 4μm can be protected.
