PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector for detecting a change in sensor output by a change (wind speed change) in the relative speed between a gas sensor element and an environmental gas independently, or uniquely without being affected by the output of other gas sensor elements, to provide a gas detector for detecting a change in the concentration of a specific gas appropriately by compensating a change in sensor output by a change in a relative speed, and to provide an auto ventilation system for vehicles using them. SOLUTION: A gas detector 10 uses a gas sensor element whose sensor resistance is changed by a change in the concentration of an oxidizing gas while being heated by a heater element 2. The detector 10 acquires a sensor output value S(n) by a sensor output value acquisition circuit 19, and detects a change in concentration by the processing of a microcomputer 16. The processing includes the one for detecting the presence or absence of a change caused by wind in the sensor output value S(n) by a change in a relative speed between a gas sensor element 11, and the like, and the fresh air, and for compensating the influence after detecting the change caused by wind.
