PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin sensor capable of accurately identify the denomination of a coin, even if the installation range of a detection coil is narrow, with respect to a coin passage range. SOLUTION: A coin sensor 3 is constituted so that a primary coil 12 and a secondary coil 13 are arranged to be separated from and facing a coin 2, which passes through a coin passage range 1 so as to be opposed to each other, in a spaced-part state and identifies the coin 2 passing through the coin passage range 1.
