The invention relates to an electroacoustic device with largest possible freedom from distortion and a quality control method for optimizing, setting and monitoring the freedom from distortion of said device. The linear and non-linear freedom from distortion of the device is achieved by means of an electrodynamic converter with a resonance- and reflection-damped central membrane, a direct coupling of the drive for the electrodynamic converter to a rigid element of high mass, which, together with the electrodynamic converter, is isolated from the housing or the baffle of the device and by housing walls or a baffle made from a glass layer, damping layers and further hard layers. According to the invention, spatial matching may be achieved whereby at least two converters are controlled such that the emission properties can be changed between a monopole and dipole characteristic at any frequency. Optimisation, monitoring and matching of the spatial acoustics can be achieved, whereby a three-dimensional diagram is derived from the impulse response, representing the linear distortion with infinitely variable resolution in the frequency and time domain. The non-linear distortions are superimposed on the three-dimensional representation in the form of colour- or grey-scales. |
