The appts includes an input device for entering data from an external equipment and a memory for storing format data. An output device outputs the data entered from the input device and the format data stored in the memory in overlaid manner. A second memory at the storage of new format data in the first memory serves for storing previous format data. A designating device indicates new format data, and a second designating device indicates the previous format data. At the first storage of format data, the first designating device is adapated to designate the first memory, and, at the succeeding storage of the new format data, the first designating device is adapated to designate the second memory while the second designating device is adapted to designate the first memory.
