PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that a conventional surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter is limited to realize excellent filter characteristics such as having wide band characteristics. SOLUTION: The SAW filter includes a piezoelectric substrate 101, input IDT electrodes 103 and 104 disposed on the piezoelectric substrate 101, and an output IDT electrode 102 disposed on the piezoelectric substrate 101, a pitch of electrode fingers of the input IDT electrodes 103 and 104 differs from a pitch of electrode fingers of the output IDT electrode 102, and a peak frequency in radiation characteristics of the input IDT electrodes 103 and 104 is substantially equal with a peak frequency in radiation characteristics of the output IDT electrode 102.
