PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer an eddy current type reduction gear which contributes to the improvement of braking efficiency and the size reduction of a device. SOLUTION: This eddy current type reduction gear is equipped with a braking member which is couple with the rotating shaft of an engine, a field generating section which makes a field act on the braking face of the braking member at braking, a mechanism which switches braking and nonbraking of the field generating section to the braking face of the above braking member, and an intermediate thin plate member which is arranged between the field generating member and the above braking face.
