PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver which allows the switching selection of a double sound on an external video input through external input terminals without giving influence on external apparatus. SOLUTION: A signal selector 6 selects sound signals inputted through an external input 5 in one of a stereo, main sound and sub-sound modes to output the signals to a signal selector 3 according to a select control signal from a selection controller 7. A signal switch 3 connects the selected sound signals to terminals TL, TL4 according to a switching control signal from a switching controller 4, this connection to the terminals TR, TR4 feeds speakers 8L, 8R with the sound signals, and the speakers 8L, 8R output sounds according to their respective sound signals.
