PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a thermometer that can surely shorten a temperature measurement time. SOLUTION: The thermometer 10 is provided with a cap 11 to be brought into contact with an object to be measured, a chip-type thermistor 14 in the cap 11 wherein an electrode is provided on the surface of a thermistor body 20, and a lead wire 15 of which one end is connected with the electrode of the chip-type thermistor 14 and the other end is led to the outside of the cap 11. A flat part is formed in at least a part of the inside of the cap 11, the chip-type thermistor 14 is joined with the flat part of the inside of the cap 11 on its lower surface in an insulative status, and furthermore a pair of electrodes are formed with a clearance in between on the upper surface of the thermistor body 20.
