PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a pointer image smoothly move and to make the pointer image easily observable in a measuring instrument display for displaying the pointer image of a measured value. SOLUTION: The measuring instrument display is constituted by arraying a display segment group S which is consisting of measuring instrument displays S1 to Sn having a sub-pointer image display segment column like a half circle (like a fan) along scales M shown in Fig.(a). A pointer image P is constituted of four sub-pointer image display segment columns Sx+1 to Sx+4 as shown in Fig.(b). The sub-pointer image display segment column Sx+1 consists of display segments a3, b2, c2, d1 and the sub-pointer image display segment column Sx+4 consists of display segments a6, b5, c5, d4. In the case of moving the pointer image P from the position of a thick solid line to the position of a thick broken line, a new pointer image is constituted of sub-pointer image display segment columns Sx+2 to Sx+5.
