PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the charge voltage of a condenser by a simple constitution in the main discharge DC power supply, used in an emission spectroscopic analyzer. SOLUTION: The emission spectrophotometer 1 is constituted so as to discharge the electric charges accumulated in the capacitor 4 to a sample 7 to be analyzed to spectroscopically analyze the light emitted by discharge and is equipped with a charge-and-discharge circuit 3 for charging and discharging the condenser and a microdischarge circuit 10 separate from the charge-and-discharge circuit. The microdischarge circuit 10 allows the charge-and-discharge circuit to discharge the overcharged voltage component of the charged condensor and holds the charged voltage to predetermined voltage, to keep the voltage of the condenser constant. The microdischarge circuit 10 is equipped with a comparison circuit for comparing the charged voltage of the condenser with the comparison voltage and a semiconductor switch circuit for controlling the grounding of the condenser.
