PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fracture of a suspension spring and a discharge line by keeping whirling of a mechanical part right after start and stop in a hermetic electric compressor. SOLUTION: A flange part 114a is provided close to a opening part of a bore part 114 of a cylinder block 113 and a regulating part 102a is provided at a position countering the flange part 114a on a lower shell 102. Since the flange part 114a of the bore part 114 which has largest energy is abutted on the regulating part 102a first, when the mechanical part whirls, whirling of the mechanical part at a time of start and stop can be effectively reduced.
