PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate having a stable quality in a method for producing the polycarbonate by using a boundary method. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polycarbonate by supplying an aqueous alkali solution of a bisphenol, phosgene and an organic solvent to an oligomer reaction vessel continuously, producing a polycarbonate oligomer having chloroformate group, introducing an organic phase containing the oligomer and aqueous alkali solution of the bisphenol into a condensation reaction vessel, performing a condensation reaction to produce the polycarbonate is provided by measuring the signal intensity of the polycarbonate oligomer by a laser-raman spectrometric method, and controlling the supplying amounts of the aqueous alkali solution of the bisphenol and/or phosgene used for the formation of the polycarbonate oligomer based on the signal intensity values.
