AQUEOUS PRIMER COMPOSITION FOR POLYOLEFIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous primer for a polyolefin that is suitable for coating a molded article made of a polyolefin (as an object to be coated) and can reduce the discharge amount of a VOC (volatile organic compound) and improve the working efficiency of coating and to provide a process for coating the molded article made of a polyolefin using the aqueous primer. SOLUTION: The aqueous primer for a polyolefin comprises (a) an aqueous polyolefin resin, (b) an aqueous polyurethane resin and (c) an aqueous crosslinking agent and is used by regulating a solid content to 30 wt% or more upon the application of coating. The process for coating the molded article made of a polyolefin comprises applying the aqueous primer (A) on the molded article made of a polyolefin, applying a melamine resin-containing aqueous base coating (B) on an uncured coating film surface formed by regulating the water content in the coating film to 5-30 wt%, applying a two-pack type clear coating (C) containing a polyisocyanate compound on an uncured double-layered coating film surface formed by adjusting the water content in the double-layered coating film formed of the aqueous primer (A) and the aqueous base coating (B) to 5-30 wt% and then heating to cure the three-layered coating film simultaneously.
